Hello! I am a nonfiction, children’a & juvenile fiction audiobook narrator who also specializes in character work and narration for full cast productions all from my home studio in Oakland, CA.   My work over the past 8 years has been mainly full cast audiobook productions, asynchronously narrating and voicing a wide range of characters across more than 40 projects. I am drawn to the more dramatic/eccentric roles- bringing out the unexpected sides of a character, the humor, the subtle fears, the masked cruelty … be they human or not. I love humorous roles and shine in the caregiver role as mom, teacher or librarian.    My nonfiction style is warm and conversational with the tone of a trusted friend or teacher - someone who will be patient & kind, but not pull her punches. I’ve narrated business, memoir, self help, psychology, eduction, health and wellness, caregiving, and grief.   Middle grade and Juvenile fiction is my happy place ("Goosebumps #53 Chicken Chicken", "Toast of Destiny”). I also narrate horror ("Credenza" and frequent contributions to the horror podcast Tales to Terrify). I would love to explore romcoms and cozy mystery and read more poetry.    I grew up in the heart of Arizona's Sonoran Desert, but fell quickly in love with the vibrancy of California's Bay Area. I’m a mom, fandom fanatic, museum volunteer, and food truck enthusiast whose favorite color is piñata. I curl (think ice and stones), have a BS in Industrial Design, been a college radio DJ, driven a crane in the Port of Oakland, been a girl scout leader, worked on archeological digs, did a 4 year stint as a 6’4 green cougar elementary school mascot, love to work with children and will not hesitate to embarrass my family with funny voices, or snippets of song at all possible moments. With training from the Berkeley Repertory School of Theater in voice over, improv, acting and dialect (RP & American Southern), I have coached with nonfiction master Sean Pratt and Jesse Bickford and completed Joel Froomkin’s Acting for Audio 1 & 2, Narrator.life and PANA classes and an abundance of workshops and coaching.

Becky Parker Geist wanted to be an author since she learned what that meant, and her passion for stories has kept growing over the years. Though her first book at age six was not really worthy of publication, she was nonetheless very proud of this accomplishment, and her parents were wonderfully encouraging (not like Hannah’s). After receiving her B.A. with a double major in Theatre and English, Becky went on to get her M.F.A. in Acting at University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. In 1981 she began narrating Talking Books for the Blind through the Library of Congress, narrating over 70 titles before moving with her husband and infant to California. Becky co-founded two theatre companies in the San Francisco Bay Area: EDEN2 Theater Ensemble and Chaucer Theatre, which included an international tour as a performer. She has worked Off Broadway in NY (including Ars Nova Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, and Signature Theatre) and the Bay Area (including A.C.T., the Mountain Play Association, and Marin Ballet) in a range of production roles. Becky works with playwright Larry Klein as dramaturg and director. In 2022 her company produced a hybrid theatre-film production of Colla Voce in collaboration with Riverview Studios (her brother Jim’s company in New Jersey). Becky is the founder and CEO of Pro Audio Voices Inc., serving an international clientele with audiobook production—including full cast productions, Becky’s favorite!—as well as marketing and podcasting services. Her intention is to inspire the world through the stories they bring to life. She believes that very time a great story comes alive, doors open—in the heart, in the mind, in the spirit. With each great story brought to life and each door that opens, positive change becomes possible, and the world changes—one story at a time. Becky serves as President of BAIPA (Bay Area Independent Publishers Association) and presents frequently on the subject of audiobook production and marketing. She is also working closely with the team creating the Audiobook World Awards Academy. The mother of three wonderful daughters who are also her best friends and colleagues, Becky lives in Portland, OR. In addition to writing, she also enjoys biking, hiking, dancing, playing the Native American flute, playing and inventing games—basically, all things creative.

At Voices in the Wind Audio Theatre, we create full-cast dramatizations of classic children’s stories like Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, The Secret Garden, and Cinderella. Our collection also features Mystery, Sci-fi, and Comedy stories. We’ve collaborated with talented voice actors and narrators from New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Toronto. Our production studio is based in Canada.
